Why the wait? What was the motivation to release them then?

Remember that Putin was just starting to make his moves on Ukraine at that time. What perfect timing for a Russian supporter to make trouble in the UK. Coincidence?

These “parties” have bad optics but were really just a glass of wine shared by co-workers who had worked together in close quarters all day. Not a party to which friends and family were invited. Would it have been OK if they had had coffee or tea instead of wine?
