Boris was too left-wing for his party.

He was an electoral liability however due to so-called Partygate.
He had some wine with workers in his office during the lock-down.
Now these were workers in his own office, unable to work from home.
I’m sure they had coffee or teas breaks during the day. And this was not a problem. At the end of the day they had some wine together. So what?

The optics were bad but this wasn’t a “party” in the usual sense of invited guests.

Of more concern is that the evidence of these “parties” was photos taken from the window of the office of the Chancellor of the Exchequer next door at 11 Downing Street.
But these photos were taken over a year before they were made public in November 2021. Why did someone “sit” on these photos rather than releasing them immediately?
Could the imminent invasion of Ukraine be an answer?
